Saydee Lynn: 4 Months

I can't believe that it has already been FOUR months!!!!!! Little Saydee baby is just growing like a weed! This month we have survived our first ear infection.
:( Dr.Chu thinks her ear drum might have busted but she couldn't tell at that time b/c she had so much drainage covering it up. She said we should be able to tell better at her 6 month appointment.
I should say, big Sis has only ever had two ear infections and they were when she was WAY older. It seems as if the "Gray girls" have a VERY HIGH pain tolerance. Saydee never acted like she felt bad through all this and actually never really ran a fever. (odd, I know)
Baylee can get stung by a wasp and not even shed a tear. She just wanted a band-aid put on it and then asked for the fly swatter so she could "smack dat thing" down!!!!
I just love this face she makes! I guess the flash catches her off guard!
Of course we are rolling EVERYWHERE these days!
Normally, the feet go straight to the mouth. I just happened to be quicker than she this particular time!
Of course Big Sis just can't give her enough love!
At 4 months Saydee:
Giggles like crazy for Baylee and Pop
Rolls from one end of the room to the other
Is eating cereal like a champ
Weighs about 12 lbs
(I know, I'm a bad mom for not knowing exact weight!)
Love LOVE loves for her big sister to talk to her!
She had been sleeping through the night since she was 7 weeks, but this month she has started to extend her 5 or 6 am feeding to about 7 am.
We are so blessed with our two little gifts from God.

Sometimes I wonder....

Sometimes I wonder what in the world she is thinking...
I'm pretty sure she is wondering how in the world she is going to survive living with her big sister!
Don't you just want to squeeze those cheeks?

A penny for you thoughts?

Saydee Lynn: 3 Months

Look MOM, NO HANDS!!!! I like how she waited to do this when I put the camera up to my face and was about to squeeze the trigger! I'm quite sure there will be more moments like these in the future. Deer in the headlights!!!! I think the flash kind of freaked her out!

Tell Me....

Is this not the cutest kid in the world???

Saydee Lynn: 2 Months

I realize I'm a little behind on my blogging because I'm posting the two month pictures when she is already three months... AND I'm realizing now that I haven't even thought about taking the three month pictures! Please don't judge me! This whole mommy of two thing is still kinda new!

At Saydee's two month checkup she weighed in at 9lbs 9oz. I think this falls into the 25th percentile.... Her head measurements were 37.5 cm. I'm telling you this because this is the first appointment that she actually made it onto the growth curve in this particular area!!! Before now Dr. Chu just created her her own curve!

She is growing so fast! I can't believe so much time has already passed. She is full of cooos and smiles. She LOVES for Baylee to talk and sing to her. She has just recently started grabbing at things and putting them into her mouth. Her hands usually end up there most of the time... it is amazing how babies will try so hard to fit their entire fist into their mouths! I believe she will be rolling over soon. She enjoys tummy time as long as Baylee or I stay right there with her and she has something or someone to look up at... other wise the Gray temper appears.

I'll be taking the annual "harvest" pictures with the girls today... I'll try to post those before Christmas!

Nap Time at the Gray's House...

It seems that we have been able to sneak in a few naps here lately...

Like father like daughter... Arms above the head and out like a light!

This is the new way to nap in the recliner, just in case you wanted to try it.
Not exactly sure how Big Sister does this, but I think it is pretty darn cute.

So she refused to take a nap earlier that afternoon and I didn't have the energy to fight her on it. I left her alone for about 5 minutes to go put some laundry up and this is what I found when I returned. I guess being a big sister cowgirl princess is a tough job.

Wishing I could crash out like this,

Birth Announcement

Saydee's First photo shoot

Baylee vs. Mom & Dad

Byron: (as he was taking the hot dogs out of the microwave)
Wow Baylee, these are HOT!!!

Baylee: (as she looks up from her coloring book)
Well, put them down.

Baylee = 1
Mom & Dad = 0

Mom: Owe!! Baylee you just stepped on my foot with your boot! That hurt!
Baylee: Well, move it out of the way!

Baylee = 2
Mom & Dad = 0

I don't think my child is lacking in the logic department.

Some other interesting things she has been saying lately:

-Hey mom look! I have a Mush-tak!!! (moustache) She normally says this when she drinks milk out of a "big girl" cup.

-When Saydee is fussing while I'm changing her diaper: Saydee, where is your pashements??? (patience)

-Hey Gigi, can you bring me a mepmem? (napkin)

-When she is "babysitting" Saydee while I'm doing something else she will come running in the room and tell me that she gave Saydee her "passy-a-fire." (pacifier)

-She often refers to her little sis as "mushin" (munchkin)

-Yesterday she told Gigi that the put the "sackage" of candy on the bar. (sack)

Never a dull moment,

One Month Old

Saydee and her VERY proud Big Sister!
Smooches!

Saydee with Baylee's horse "Smoky."

She refused to look at the camera....

I can't believe one month has already been here and gone! I have enjoyed the easy transition from being the mother of one darling little girl to the mother of two little angels!

Miss Saydee is such a good baby! She is developing a wonderful little schedule and pretty much sticks too it these days. She is sleeping in her crib during the night now and during her afternoon naps. She doesn't fuss when put down at night or during the nap. Actually, she really doesn't fuss much at all except when she is hungry and momma isn't getting it to her fast enough!

Here are a few little things I thought I'd share:

-overall she is a HAPPY baby
-she LOVES her sister
-she has started holding her head up REALLY well when held on someones shoulder
-she will follow my voice with her eyes and head when I talk to her from across the room
-she usually goes to bed around 9 and sleeps until 2 or 3, eats then back to bed until 6 or 7.
-her afternoon nap is a "big girl" nap. she sleeps in her crib and is usually the same time every day.
-she likes to be outside, or in her chair next to the windows.

We are just overwhelmed with God's love and grace these days!

Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

This little stinker...

This little stinker.... yes, this one pictured below.... is growing up WAY too fast! She is Three going on 30... and I can't believe the changes in her since her little sister has arrived.

This is her today before she and her father spent HOURS horseback looking for a few lost yearlings. Yes, my BABY is growing up and I'm having a pretty hard time with it! (can you tell?)

She has been such a great Big Sister. She helps me out ALL the time. She can "babysit" Saydee when I'm doing things around the house. She sings to her, gives her the pacifier when she needs it, tells me when she is crying and helps me with the diaper changes. I haven't noticed any jealousy at all, well except that directed towards Gigi when she spends a little too much time with Saydee. GiGi and Baylee are pretty tight and Baylee doesn't mind letting everyone know who she belongs too. (it is totally cute though!)

One of the sweetest things I want to share happened a few weeks ago. Baylee always wants to give Saydee kisses before she goes to bed at night. One night I noticed that Baylee was whispering something into Saydee's ear. I didn't ask her what she said that time, but the next night she did it again so my curiosity got the better of me and I asked. Baylee looked at me with those big blue eyes and said: "Mom, I told Saydee that I love her to the moon and I love her back!" My eyes are watering right now just typing that! She is such a sweetheart!

Loving every minute with my two girls!

Acceptance

You know you have been accepted into the family when you pull into the driveway and your father-in-law is on the phone with someone and says: "Well, I've got to go... my Daughter-in-law and her husband just pulled up."

Two Week Check-Up

We went today for Miss Saydee's two week check-up with her new Pediatrician, Dr. Chu. Byron and I decided to switch the girls from our Decatur pedi to a new on a little closer... in Seymour. Turns out we both just LOVE Dr. Chu, and she comes HIGHLY recommended.

Stats from Saydee's 4 day check up:

Weight: 5 lbs 13 oz (upon leaving the hospital she was 5 lbs 7 oz)

Length: 18.5 inches (at birth she was 17 inches... I'm thinking there was a small error here!?!?)

Head: 32 cm

Two week stats:

Weight: 6 lbs 11 oz

Length: 19 inches

Head: 34 cm

We also had to have her PKU and Hearing tested today. Can I tell you how much I hate those PKU tests???? It wasn't as traumatizing this go around b/c I actually left the room and made Byron experience it this time, but it still breaks my heart to see my kiddo's tortured!!! They even had to stick her TWICE! YUCKO!

She did pass her hearing test... finally! Dr. Chu thinks she didn't pass at the hospital b/c she is just to tiny and her ear canals had some gunk in them. But all is well now and that is one worry we can mark off our list! YEA Saydee!

Saydee is such a happy baby, and she is definitely LOVED and adored more by her big sister than anyone else! It is the sweetest thing to hear Baylee talk to her little sister. She starts her morning off by insisting on seeing and kissing her sister! My goal is to get some of the little "sister" moments caught on film and post them to share with you.... maybe someday I can get that done! HA! (there is only so much time between feedings and work and laundry and well, you know the rest! HA!)

Here is a picture of our first trip to Sunday School and Church as a family of four....
