My two little angel bugs....

Oh my how the Lord has blessed Byron and I. I'm so thankful for these two little people he has entrusted us to. I love how he teaches us and believes in us and guides us in how to mold them to follow Him. It is not an easy thing to be parents... because we are still children ourselves. BUT the one thing our Heavenly Father tells us is that we don't do it on our own strentgh and we don't do it alone. Isn't that so comforting?

Wow.... I'm so behind....

No, we haven't fallen off the face of the earth... just in case you were wondering...
There has been A LOT of things going on in our small little Mayberry world. I'll post some pictures to tide you over while I'm working on all the updates! These are from Saydee's 1st Birthday!!!!

Flyin' Solo....

For those of you who don't know, we moved. We are no longer citizens of Throckmorton, Texas. We are now proud members of the Elbert (or what we call "Thelbert) community. (we call it Thelbert because we are between Throckmorton and Elbert.)

We bought a place out in the country.... way... out in the country. We are 13 miles from Throckmorton. This place, this home, this area that is OUR's is amazing. It feels like us and for the first time we feel at peace with where God has lead us. We have horses, cats, chickens, and one guinea. I'm sure we will add to our little farm very soon. Baylee needs a couple of dogs and she says she wants a goat. (ah hum... Lindy, you are totally responsible for that!)

Our daughters will get to grow up knowing what it is like doing real chores and hopefully their dad will get to see a grow yard full of cattle and his little girls helping him operate it.

It has been so wonderful to see God's hand in every aspect of our lives. Complete Faith in Him is so fulfilling. Complete surrender is even better. I have to tell you this little piece of Earth did come with a price tag. One of more than just monetary value. The purchase of this place meant the departure of our very dear friends, The Sharon Family. They moved back "home" to Colorado.

It has taken some time and lots of prayer, but I have found comfort in two things:

1.) Scripture

2.) I get to see little glimpses of them in our home

Yesterday was special. Yesterday Baylee and her Dad shared a very special "first."

You see, Baylee's "Uncle Jed" gave her one of his favorite old horses.... Alpo. Baylee has wanted a horse so badly since we told her we were moving to the "country." Last weekend Jed delivered Alpo and Baylee has been over the moon.

Yesterday, to spite the 110 degree heat wave, Byron saddled Alpo and we skipped evening services at the Church to spend some quality family time together.

I had to sneak around to get some candid shots... if she had seen me it would have ruined the whole experience.

She was telling Byron something about Alpo's head... not too sure, but she thought it was serious.

Learning to lead Alpo

How can one little girl be so overwhelmingly amazing?

This picture warms my heart. I can't tell you the many thanks I sent up to God after watching this scene unfold. Precious, just precious.

Baylee normally says the blessing around our dinner table. Last night was no different. She prayed and said, Amen. Very suddenly she said, "Oh, wait... I forgot something." So we all joined hands and she added this:

"God, thank you so much for Uncle Jed giving me Alpo." Amen.

Uncle Jed, you will never know how happy you made this blond haired blue eyed little girl.

Saydee Lynn: 9 Months

We started out okay....

But as it turned out... she just wanted to sit in the chair by herself...

Wonder where this independent attitude comes from?

At 9 months Miss Saydee Lynn is sooooo cute! She is such a good kiddo. She has been crawling since she turned 6 month so she has had a few months to work on her speed. She is SUPER FAST. She has been pulling up on everything and even letting go to test the waters some. It won't be long before she is running around chasing big sister. She is a great eater, I've noticed with the second child the "mom" doesn't have as much anxiety about trying new foods. She loves to feed herself and as of this week... the baby food is pretty much out of the quesiton. She wants the real stuff!!!

Saydee Lynn: 8 Months

I don't know exactly what the problem was, but she DID NOT want to sit on her Sister's lap! I still think they are both cute!

Tea Party

Here a while back Baylee BEGGED me to have a tea party with her. I figured if we were going to go through all the motions we might as well reap the rewards! So... we got out the fine china, set the table, made tea, sliced cheese and ham and invited GiGi over during Saydee's nap time and had ourselves a tea Party!

Saydee Lynn: 7 Months

I believe she is trying to catch flies with her mouth open like that....

New Baylee Moments....

I love love love how incredibly precious my little blond headed blue eyed little angel is. She is amazing and every day I find myself wondering how she could possibly be mine. I love her logic and her wit. The combination of the two sometimes bring me to my knees in laughter. Everything is so simple in her world, not at all like her last name... Gray. Her world is very much black or white, never gray.

Here are a few of her newest, most hilarious moments. (well, at least they are to me!)

-Several nights ago I was giving Baylee a bath and she has some of those foam letters that stick to the side of the bathtub that she LOVES to play with. She stuck several of them up on the tub and said: Look MOM, its' my name! Then she proceeded to SPELL her name out loud... B-A-Y-L-E-..... I just gasped because I couldn't believe she just spelled her name!!!! However she had forgotten the last E on the end of her name so I corrected her and told her there was one more E... she quickly corrected me and said No, there is just one.

A few nights later she was in the bath again and started sticking those letters to the tub and I said: Baylee, can you spell your name for me again?

She looked at me with this cute little innocent little face and said: B-O-S.... as in BOSS... except with out the last S.

After 5 minutes of laughing and some major side stitches I finally regained my composure to finish the bath.

This next one happened with Pop, so this is a second had account:

Yesterday morning Pop picked Baylee up and she was going to spend the day with him out at the Ranch feeding. So after Pop dropped me off at the office (we have a foot of snow on the ground and I can't get my Acadia out of the drive way and Byron is in Fort Worth for the Stock Show so Pop has run the "Pop-wagon" shuttle bus...) I strapped her in her car seat in Pop's single cab truck, kissed her and watched her drive off with her Pop. Pop said they had a great day but at one point she got a little restless and was kicking her legs or doing something that he had told her not to do several times. Finally he looked at her and said, Baylee if you do that again I'm going to bust your tail. Well, this made her stop what she was doing and she turned her head away from him and pouted while she looked out the window for a few minutes.

Pop said after a while of silence she turned to him and said: "Pop."

He replied, yes Baylee......

She looked at him and said, "Pop, I don't have a tail."

Counting my blessings, each and EVERY one of them.

Saydee Lynn: 5 Months

So Saydee Lynn turned 5 months in December... except I kinda sort of forgot to take the pictures then. (GASP!) These are "mock" 5 month pictures at 6 months. (please don't judge me! HA!) She as grown SO much is is meeting SO MANY milestones! I can't believe time has gone by so fast! She is always busy, and "wiggly" as Baylee would say.

I had to put this picture in here... Not only is she the cutest little thing, but she is also ROLLING everywhere these days and as a result she rubs her face on the carpet or quilt or what ever she happens to be on at the time. I can't find a lotion or cream that won't rub off, so she has rosy red cheeks most of the time, and now... a rash...

Soaking up the cuteness,
