We went today for Miss Saydee's two week check-up with her new Pediatrician, Dr. Chu. Byron and I decided to switch the girls from our Decatur pedi to a new on a little closer... in Seymour. Turns out we both just LOVE Dr. Chu, and she comes HIGHLY recommended.
Stats from Saydee's 4 day check up:
Weight: 5 lbs 13 oz (upon leaving the hospital she was 5 lbs 7 oz)
Length: 18.5 inches (at birth she was 17 inches... I'm thinking there was a small error here!?!?)
Head: 32 cm
Two week stats:
Weight: 6 lbs 11 oz
Length: 19 inches
Head: 34 cm
We also had to have her PKU and Hearing tested today. Can I tell you how much I hate those PKU tests???? It wasn't as traumatizing this go around b/c I actually left the room and made Byron experience it this time, but it still breaks my heart to see my kiddo's tortured!!! They even had to stick her TWICE! YUCKO!
She did pass her hearing test... finally! Dr. Chu thinks she didn't pass at the hospital b/c she is just to tiny and her ear canals had some gunk in them. But all is well now and that is one worry we can mark off our list! YEA Saydee!
Saydee is such a happy baby, and she is definitely LOVED and adored more by her big sister than anyone else! It is the sweetest thing to hear Baylee talk to her little sister. She starts her morning off by insisting on seeing and kissing her sister! My goal is to get some of the little "sister" moments caught on film and post them to share with you.... maybe someday I can get that done! HA! (there is only so much time between feedings and work and laundry and well, you know the rest! HA!)

Miss Saydee Lynn is HERE!!!!
Miss Saydee Lynn Gray arrived on July 17th, 2010 at 3:48 am. She weighed in at 5 pounds 12 ounces and was 17 inches long.
I can't even tell you how blessed we feel right now. It is an amazing experience to become a mother and father, but when you get to do it for the second time those feelings just double! Baylee has just LOVED having her little sister around! As soon as she gets home in the afternoon's she hits the door looking for her little sister and give her kisses!
Saydee is just perfect. (of course I'm biased!) She is a great eater and sleeper! I actually think I've slept better the last few nights than I have since I got pregnant with her! She has put herself on a good 3 to 3.5 hour schedule which allows for EVERYONE to get some good sleep time in. She rarely ever cries, and when she does i think it is out of frustation with mom not getting the milk to her fast enough!
Here are a few pictures I have from my camera.

Plum delicious...
Or so we thought.... This little "accident" actually occurred about a month or so ago and I've just been so far behind on my posting that I'm just now getting to it.
Tamra and I have been having a BLAST with all of our Susie Homemaker skills. So much so, that we thought we were "big" enough to multi task on day. That multi tasking involved boiling down the plumbs for jelly and also sewing in the other room at the same time.
Normally we are pretty good with having 500 things going at one time, but not this day.... no, Sir... not this day.
We had set the timer for the plums and ran back to the sewing room to get our projects all laid out.... well, time got away from us and the next thing we knew we were cleaning up a HUGE mess. It seems we had turned the burners up on the stove a little too much and this is what we found:

We looked like little kids trying to get our mess cleaned up before the Husbands got home! One thing that was the funniest thing about the whole mess was Tamra saying: I just don't know how that happened... there must be a hole in that pan or something!
I still laugh every time I think about it!
Finally getting to make some jelly out of what was left...
I know Grandma Deanie will LOVE this post!
37 Weeks
I have to admit... it doesn't seem possible that I'm already 37 weeks along. This pregnancy has FLOWN by and I find myself now, tyring to treasure every second I have left. Not that I want to stay preggers any longer than I have to, but I know I will miss being able to have Miss Saydee this close to me ALL THE TIME and not have to share her with anyone! Selfish, I know, but I can't help it! Something else I keep savoring every second of is my time with Baylee. I guess you could say it is the hormones, or just a classic case of mommy guilt... but I just can't wrap my head around the fact that I'm going to have to split my time in the VERY near future. I know that once Saydee is here everything will work out according to God's marvelous master plan and everything will just seem to "fit." But I just wonder if I'll have those same kind of moments with Baylee that I do now. Take this morning for instance. I woke up early, or maybe I never really slept at all thanks to a record breaking bout of heart burn... but I went into Baylee's room and just watched her sleep for the longest time.. then i couldn't help myself so I crawled into bed with her and just held her. A little while later she started to smile, but never really opened her eyes. I knew she was awake but was letting me get my Baylee "fix" with out interrupting me. I just LOVE that kid! I hope we always share the bond we have now, I just hope it gets stronger and stronger!
Somethings I've been SO thankful for the last few days:
-The RAIN! Not only because we need it, but also because it keeps the temps down in the 80's! That means Momma doesn't swell nearly as bad and that is a good thing!
-My wonderful family who has been looking after me and not judging me for all of my "nesting." Well, everyone except my hubby... he just freaks out because he know that means more work for him if I'm in one of my high energy moods!
-My Doctor. She is WONDERFUL! I'm so thankful she understands and is concerned about the distance I live from the Hospital and takes PRO-active steps to ensure the safety of me and my baby. I don't feel like a number when I walk into her office.
-did I mention the rain? and the 80% temps???

The Verdict is in....
So, I went in for my 37 week check up today and everything couldn't be better!!! Miss Saydee Lynn is now head DOWN!!! Praise God! That officially eleminates the possibility of a c-section. I am 50% efaced and dialted to a 1.... The Doc scheduled me to be induced on: JULY 20th!!!!I think she was a little nervous about the drive and about how fast my labor was with Baylee so she said she didn't want to risk anything. She also overloaded me with info on what to do if I go into labor before the 20th and what to do if I am no where near a hospital! You gotta love living in the sticks!!!! I'll post my belly pictures tomorrow!
Only 14 more days,
